Shield of Faith

A journal of my family's battle with cancer. On December 15th, 2006 I was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer. In the spring of 2008, we found evidence the cancer has advanced to stage IV.
I am 38 years old and live in Tucson, Arizona.

Amazing Support

The enormous outpouring of support we have received is tremendous. So many people have offered their help and put us in their prayers and we are so grateful. There are many things we are learning through this process and at the top of the list is how fortunate we are to have such loving and amazing people around us.

I have met many people who are cancer survivors in the past couple of weeks and their encouragement has been very helpful. It is remarkable how many people there are out there that have beaten cancer and it is invaluable to find out what they believe was the keys to their victory.

As part of all of the support we have received hundreds of suggestions, recommendations and advice. I have been advised to gain weight by eating as much as possible, practice yoga, get acupuncture and massages, see a chiropractor, meditate, see a naturopathic doctor, avoid sugar, eat lots of meat, drink green tea, smoke marijuana and drink mother's milk. We love getting advice even if I am not able to do everything everyone suggests and I encourage people to keep the advice coming.

I thank God for encouraging me through the family and friends He has surrounded me with.
